Dunhuang Xi’an 5-day Tour




13 Nov., 2010 Shanghai/Dunhuang
Take morning flight to Dunhuang. Upon arrive Dunhuang, you will visit the ‘Art Treasure-house of East Buddha’, home of paintings and sculptures, as well as beautiful fabrics made by Buddhist artisans. Sightseeing will include the local Magao Grottoes, Sounding Sandhill and Crescent Spring. (D/L)

14 Nov., 2010 Dunhuang
A day of sightseeing is planned in the desert alongside travelling along a portion of the Silk Road. Here you can visit the oldest military installations on the Silk Road including the Beacon Tower. (B/L/D)

15 Nov., 2010 Dunhuang/Xi’an
In the morning you will fly to Xi’an, upon arrival, transfer to visit the Stele Forest and continues on the Shanxi Museum. Enjoy a local speciality- Jiaozi Banquet as your dinner tonight. (B/L/D)

16 Nov., 2010 Xi’an
An unforgettable excursion is planned to the remarkable underground ruins near Xian, to see the Terracotta Army. There is an opportunity to view archaeologists at work excavating the huge tomb of first Emperor Qin, builder of the Great Wall. See thousands of life sized terracotta soldiers and their horses, which served as the imperial bodyguards to this ancient emperor. After which you’ll visit the Huaqing Hot Spring. Following an afternoon free for shopping and a special dinner, you’ll have an optional tour to enjoy the Tang Dynasty folklore show. (B/L/D)

17 Nov., 2010 Xi’an/Shanghai
After breakfast, you will visit Xian City Wall, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty. There will be time to walk round some of the 13¾-kilometre wall, between the watchtowers and gates or over the moats. After lunch, transfer to the airport and fly back to Shanghai.(B/L)
