The Oriental Pearl TV Tower
Situated within the Pudong Park in Lujiazui, in the Pudong New Area, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower is 468 meters high. Like the Statue of Liberty in New York, the Sydney Opera House and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower is as much a symbol of Shanghai as it is a spectacular structure. It ranks the first in Asia, the third high tower in world. Along with the Nanpu Bridge and the Yangpu Bridge, it forms a picture of two dragons playing with a pearl. The Oriental Pearl Tower is a multi-functional establishment satisfying virtually all needs of visitors and patrons, including tourism, dining, shopping, entertainment, boarding and Audio & Video Broadcasting. It has already become one of the symbolic buildings and tourism resorts in Shanghai. It is also honored as one of the ten best views in Shanghai.
The Bund
Board a yacht and cruise the Huangpu River! From there, tourists are afforded a grand vision of both sides of the river. On one side one may see the lofty buildings in the Bund, the famous Wai Baidu Bridge, and Huangpu Park, the first park in Shanghai. The other side is the beautiful Oriental Pearl TV tower, the tallest building in China - also, you'll see the Jinmao Building and the rapid-expanding Lujiazui Financial Zone. Tourists will also see two great bridges: the Yangpu Bridge and the Nanpu Bridge, connecting both sides of the river. In the middle of the river, you'll see all styles of boats and ships from many countries. These boats, always moving about in the river, provide a grand sight to international tourists. Along the river, you'll also see the busy Shanghai international passenger-transport station, row upon row of commercialized docks, China's biggest steel factory-Bao Steel, the Wusong "old emplacement site" and the "Three-Colored Waters," made up of the joining of the yellow water from the Yangtze river, the grey-blue water of the Huangpu river and the blue water from the East Sea. The waters' colors remain separate; they do not blend with each other, and they prove to be a truly wonderful sight under the sun.
The Yu Yuan
The Yu Yuan only retains the intact classical garden of the South, the Key Cultural Relic Unit under State Protection in Shanghai. The garden of Henan Province was established in the 38th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1559), added and expanded again in the 5th year of perpetual calendar (1577), large-scale, praised as "the famous garden of southeast precedes ". The Yu Yuan, is characteristic of the architectural style of the Ming dynasty. It is a private garden in the southeast of Shanghai, with a history of more than 400 years. The Garden, reminiscent of those in Suzhou, features more than 30 halls and pavilions. It is divided into six parts, each separated by a white brick wall, the top of which forms and undulates gray dragon. Each part of the park, although divided, has a balance and harmony creating an expression unity.
The old street of Shanghai
The old street of Shanghai, originally known as Fangbinzhong Road, from south Henan Road in the west, to Renmin Avenue in the east, the total length is 825 meters. The architectural styles from the west to the east and overall arrangement of the conditions have shown the evolvement of history in Shanghai. The commerce of the whole street manages the mainstream of regarding traditional characteristic trade in order to give prominence to traditional folk culture and build the culture atmosphere of Shanghai's style.
Walking-street in East Nanjing Road
The walking-street of Nanjing Road (from Xizang Road in the west to Henan Road in the east) is the first shopping walking-street in China. It is the most famous street of China, too. For a long time, it is a place that reflects the commercial prosperity of downtown, where you can appreciate the fashion of Shanghai and China. It is most difficult to understand its excellence thoroughly--- the first street to use coal gas street lamp, with the most abundant items, the most intensive neon-light advertisements, the most perfect commercial service and so on.
